after an intense sculpting for 5 hours finally i have my first mudbox crashes,,was sculpting a monster head with a war helmet , now left with the helmet only , and the low poly high poly texture

Superman-Blue! 03/03/2009

my computer is not that powerful anymore now . time goes by so fast as technology increases quickly,  so my poly count  for high res in mudbox can only goes up to around 2 million polys , i know a guy that have this crazy ass computer , he can increases his poly count up to 334 million polys.   his computer specs is Dual Quad Core 3.0 GHz Processors
NVIDIA Quadro FX 3700 512 MB
21 GB RAM accompany by  30 inch Apple Cinema Display , i wonder how he rig his ram until 21 GB , anyway the superman-blue was done about 5 hour , 2 million poly counts, went browsing of superhero that have simple costume. so i found superman.  when come to sculpting i'm very impatience, i just cannot wait to see the finish work..  below is the character concept of superman i got from internet.

then move on to mudbox and use the already provided male model . from there i start sculpting until it reaches the highest poly that my computer cant afford.

i kindda like the realtime render in mudbox , its simple and easy, now my next challenge is to bring it to Maya and make an interesting pose on the character , how to do that , i dont know... i never learn kingstons character rig..

done it in a rush , no references ,  .roughly took me 30 minute to finish it , .first i started from the base head model provided by mudbox  , then from there subdivide  just like zbrush..

not bad for first timer but still can improve more... my pc was quite laggy after so many subdivision, i guess thats one of the problem that mudbox need to solve in the future..

real time render inside mudbox 2009

i remember my teacher said to the class one day, "if You were to sculpt a head model without a reference , your sculpture will end up look like yourself.." its actually true,,, it does look like me a bit. in the age of 40 , lol.

finally digitaltutors produce an introduction video for mudbox 2009 link , i started earlier today blocking the main character that they provide on the training dvd. see how it goes, so far no problem encountered , except i still need to get used on the brush stroke in mudbox ,
